Legal Experience

In the summer of 2008, Attorney Kehler served as a legal intern for the Honorable John F. Cherry of the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. In 2009, she worked as a certified legal intern at the Harrisburg Civil Law Clinic in Harrisburg, PA. At the Civil Law Clinic, Attorney Kehler maintained case files and represented clients regarding family law, estate law, consumer law, contract law, and unemployment hearings.

Also, in 2009, Attorney Kehler worked as a certified legal intern for the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office located at the Dauphin County Courthouse. Here, Attorney Kehler gained insight to life as a prosecutor and obtained invaluable experience in preparing for and presenting jury trials, juvenile master, and detention hearings.

She also became experienced in preparing legal research and drafting briefs for submission to the Superior Court of PA.

Assistant District Attorney for the Adams County 

After taking the bar in July of 2010, Attorney Kehler immediately began working as an Assistant District Attorney for the Adams County District Attorney's Office in Gettysburg, PA. Here, Ms. Kehler refined her brief writing skills by handling all appeals in criminal cases and drafting briefs in support of the Commonwealth's positions.

Attorney Kehler also had the privilege of presenting oral arguments before the Superior Court of PA. Additionally, Attorney Kehler enhanced her trial skills by trying numerous cases in front of judges and juries — some of which include DUI involving alcohol, DUI involving controlled substances, theft, aggravated assault, drug crimes, and welfare fraud.

In 2012, Attorney Kehler prosecuted 3 defendants who were charged with a combined 68 counts of animal cruelty. State Police executed a valid search warrant on the property located in East Berlin and seized over 51 abused and neglected animals.

Charges were brought when Ms. Kehler learned that these animals and other animals located on the property were severely injured, deceased, diseased, and / or malnourished. With the help of the ACSPCA and the State Police, the lives of 19 cats, 2 miniature horses, 2 mares (horses), 2 bull calves, 9 dogs, and numerous rabbits and guinea pigs were saved when the judge awarded custody of the animals to the ACSPCA.

Today, Attorney Kehler's background in prosecution provides her with inside knowledge that serves as a major asset to her criminal defense clients.

Education

Attorney Kehler was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA. She graduated from Central Dauphin East High School in 2002 and Millersville University in 2006. During her time at Millersville, she earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in government and political affairs as well as psychology.

In 2010, Attorney Kehler graduated from Widener University School of Law and received her Juris Doctor.
